Andrew & Mark

Andrew & Mark

Walk Leader, Wellington

Andrew and Mark are the walk leaders for the Wellington edition of Walk for a Bloke. Both are passionate runners and proud members of the Wellington Scottish Athletics Club, where their shared love of movement first brought them together. Beyond the track and roads, they're strong advocates for mateship and mental wellbeing - firm believers in the power of a good chat and being there for your mates.

Andrew stands 16cm taller than Mark, but when it comes to supporting others, they walk side by side. For this event, they're leading a local walk with purpose - creating space for connection, conversation, and community. Whether you're walking to support someone, to connect, or just to clear your head, Andrew and Mark are here to make sure no one walks alone.

After the walk

Lunch is available at the finish venue after the walk. It's not included in your ticket, but it's a good reason to stick around.

Family and supporters are welcome to meet you at the finish line and join the celebrations. You don't need to complete the full distance. The point is showing up.

Can't finish? That's fine. Let a volunteer know and exit the course at any point.

What to bring

At least 1L of water: a small backpack or camel pack works well
Sunscreen and a hat
Comfortable, worn-in walking shoes. Do not wear new shoes on the day
